University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC)


Company Logo of University of Piraeus Research CenterThe University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC) is a non-profit organisation governed by an executive board formed exclusively by Faculty members of the University, appointed by the Senate as its Chairman.

UPRC provides administration and technological support to basic and applied research carried out by Faculty members (over 200 members) of the University of Piraeus since 1983.

The participating group – Security Research Group of the Department of Informatics, at University of Piraeus has significant experience in the areas of Security, eMaritime, Software Engineering. UPRC has participated in numerous F6/7 projects on security, maritime and egovernment. In order for UPRC to reinforce its ability to successfully manage projects similar to MEDUSA, it has invested on project management methodologies and quality control schemes. In particular, UPRC has been awarded with an ISO 9001:2008 Certification, and a National Accreditation for its administrative competence.
